Gymnastic Experience

The gymnastics experience was really exciting. The children enjoyed being able to try so many different activities. Thank you to the parents who helped make it so much fun!

Ag Day

What an amazing experience Ag Day was for all of us. We saw so many wonderful things and got to use our creativity. Enjoy the photos.

Term 4

Welcome back to Term 4. This is going to be a very busy term, lots of fun and lots of work. Enjoy the last part of this journey for 2017!

Book Spine Titles Competition

The school library recently held a competition to see who could tell a story using various titles of books. Four of the Room 2 children entered and showed how clever they are.

Father's Day

We made our special fathers a photo frame to say thank you for everything they do for us. Then we wrote about our fathers.

Season Trees

We made some beautiful trees this term We first looked at the changes in each season and then coloured and cut out shapes for each of the parts of the tree. After that we wrote about the trees and put together a book to make our season story.

Sign Language

Room 2 presented the sign language learnt in Term 2 at the Assembly in Week 2. We have really enjoyed learning another language and hope we will have the opportunity to learn even more by the end of the year.
These are: beer, coffee, Wednesday and pizza.

Term 3

Welcome back to Term 3. I hope you all had a lovely, peaceful holiday and lots of rest!

2017 Production

The children in Room 2 enjoyed participating in the Production this year, but it was hard work keeping everyone healthy enough to be at each performance. We were divided into two groups which was easier than being at four shows. Thank you to our parents for your support in having the children at school each night. The children were awesome!

Matariki

Room 2 had a wonderful day learning about Matariki and we hope to repeat this type of activity across the Piwakawaka Team again.

When I sneezed it fell out of my nose. My sneeze fell out of my nose and it ran. It ran and it ran. I was trying to catch my sneeze. It was running to get out.

Welcome to Term 2

This term has started very well. We have four new children in our class, Summer, Jax, Karli and Indiana. They have settled very well and have become a part of Room 2.

We worked on Measurement today and a number of children decided that it would be a good idea to measure the width of the classroom using Unifix blocks. They worked together to complete the project and then we had to count the blocks. What a big job! We made it easier by grouping the blocks into tens and the end result was 404 blocks.

Room 2 Assembly

We presented a most successful assembly in Week 10. Congratulations to the presenters for doing your part so professionally, and to everyone for singing your 'Herman the Worm' song so well. I am so proud of all of you! Hope you are having a lovely holiday.

Easter Dinosaurs

We had so much fun making our dinosaurs for Easter. It was rather a strange thing to do, considering most people make bunnies. Room 2 decided to be different. We painted our plates in the colour of our choice and then folded the plates and they were stapled closed. We cut out the 'spikes' and glued them on and then the legs were added. It was fun to add the mouth and the other scales. Here are our dinosaurs:

Purple Day

Today we enjoyed a Purple Day at school. This was a fundraising effort to assist people with epilepsy. Many of the children in Room 2 wore purple to support this and they really looked so good. Well done and thank you for your support.

Life Education

What an exciting Week 4 we had. The Life Education team came to visit and we met Harold, the giraffe. We learnt a lot about Respect and being good friends. We watched a few really interesting videos which also showed us how to keep ourselves safe when riding bikes or scooters, and about caring for our friends. 

Swimming

Room 2 enjoyed swimming today

Room 2 children are very excited because our swimming program has started and we love being in the water. We swim on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

We have also just received our first reading books and we are practising reading everyday. We are all superstars!
